Who we are

Cider Army is an unofficial fan site for Bristol City FC, run by a supporter. We are not affiliated with Bristol City Football Club. If you have questions about this policy, contact the site operator at admin@cider.army.

What we collect and why

• Predictions and player ratings. When you predict a match result or rate a player, we record your choice together with your IP address and a timestamp. This protects the polls from being gamed and helps us investigate abuse. IP addresses are deleted after 90 days; the aggregate tallies (percentages, average ratings) are kept for the season.
• Prediction league. We store the display name you choose, a random device identifier (cookie), your predictions and your points. Link codes used to connect devices are one-time and expire after 15 minutes.
• Page views (internal). We record which pages were viewed and when, with no IP address, so we can see which content is popular.
• Analytics (GoatCounter). We run GoatCounter on our own server to count visits. Counting is disabled until you accept in the consent banner. With GoatCounter's session feature enabled, accepting stores a session cookie so repeat views within a visit aren't double counted. We only see aggregated statistics.

Cookies we use

• Security cookie (.AspNetCore.Antiforgery*): protects our forms from cross-site request forgery. Essential - no consent needed. Session length.
• Vote / rating cookies (cider_voted_*, cider_rated_*): stop the same match being voted on twice. Set only when you vote. 90 days.
• League cookie (cider_league_id): remembers your league entry so your predictions and points are yours. Set only when you join the league or link a device. 1 year.
• Consent cookie (cider_consent): remembers your analytics choice so we don't ask every visit. 1 year.
• GoatCounter session cookie: used for visit counting, only if you accept analytics. Session length.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to our processing, or to move your data elsewhere. Just email the address above and we will act on it. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
